So after all the drama of being involved in an accident, the pain of sorting out all the insurance, visiting the local police station with insurance and car roadworthiness documents and trying to sort out a replacement vehicle while my car is off the road, my little Toyota is taken away on the back of a lorry for repair.
Now normally, the insurance company give you a car to use that is like-for-like, so I'm expecting to get a Fiesta or Punto or similar. The following morning, a big lorry turns up on my doorstep, looking like one of those transporters you see parked outside the garages at Formula One and this is rolled off the back :-
Not that I'm complaining of course... It's a little wider than my car, a bit longer and gets to 70mph a damn sight quicker than my Yaris. I'm only expecting to keep the BMW for a week or so, and indeed, it only takes a week and a half to get the metalwork on my car straightened out and resprayed. It takes a further two and a half weeks to get a replacement door handle.
The garage do a good job though (see before and after below) but after driving a brand new BMW, my six year old Yaris doesn't half feel light and loose. I have to give the Beemer back too
Everything is back to normal, the stress flows away and I relax. Just so I can get a stinking cold in time for going away to Cornwall for ten days...
