fisherman and son
catching nothing but minnows
and the laughter of ducks

fisherman and son catching nothing but minnows and the laughter of ducks |
See the two figures in a small boat―fishing unsuccessfully, but together. When you hear an aggetated duck going "WakWakWakWakWakWak..." it does sound a bit like mocking laughter. It's been a family joke ever since

It can be a bit surprising sometimes, you look around and think 'Who's laughing?', and it's the wildlife!

It always amazes me how something like the sound of the ducks can make people remember things. I must have been five or six at the time when my dad was trying to fish.
